Love Welcomes is a creative social enterprise that helps refugee women begin to stitch their lives back together. Their team of refugee women upcycle materials into beautiful, handmade home products that they sell all over the world.

Following on from The Edge X Love Welcomes project, I was invited to design a range of bags for both men and women that could be crafted on the simple machinery available in the Love Welcomes studio.

Inspired by the woven pattern developed for the guitar strap, I explored new ways to use that weave to secure straps and form exterior pockets. This approach created straightforward patterns that were easy to produce while reducing the amount of sewing required for each piece.
